Entering edition descriptors:
(for editions other than the first)

If the work is the first edition published, you do not need to enter an edition descriptor.

Edition descriptions are usually numbers (2d ed., 4th ed.), and they are essential to pointing your readers to the text of the source work you are using. Different editions often number pages differently, and if you do not include the edition description, it is quite possible that readers will not be able to relocate the material you are citing.

When the edition is a numbered edition, include the number of the edition in the Edition field.
