Note: Bluebook and ALWD style.

Most students and faculty interested in legal studies are quite familiar with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. “Bluebook” style is rather a standard format for legal citations. Recently, the Association of Legal Writing Directors (ALWD), an organization of more than 200 members representing approximately 150 law schools, undertook the ambitious project of developing and publishing a new legal citation manual. In early 2000 the years of work came to fruition when the ALWD Citation Manual was published by Aspen Law & Business.

Bluebook and ALWD citation style are very similar*, dealing with the same types of resource works. Both are fully supported by the LegalCitation software.
